Get an API key from Anthropic (Claude)

1. Go to console.anthropic.com and sign in or create an account.
2. Add a few dollars of credit under Billing (API usage is billed separately from a Claude Pro plan).
3. Open API Keys → Create Key, name it “Tentaku” and copy it. It’s shown once.
4. In Tentaku: Settings → Your AI → choose “Claude — API key” → paste the key → Save → Test.

Pay-as-you-go, separate from ChatGPT Plus / Claude Pro. Tentaku’s default (Balanced) model for this provider is claude-haiku-4-5, which keeps a lecture to cents; Best uses claude-sonnet-5-5.

Treat the key like a password: it’s stored encrypted on your computer and only ever sent to the provider.
