Get an API key from OpenAI (ChatGPT models)

  1. Go to platform.openai.com and sign in (a ChatGPT login works).
  2. Add credit under Billing (ChatGPT Plus doesn’t include API usage).
  3. Open API Keys → Create new secret key and copy it. It’s shown once.
  4. In Tentaku: Settings → Your AI → choose “ChatGPT / OpenAI — API key” → paste the key → Save → Test.

Pay-as-you-go, separate from ChatGPT Plus / Claude Pro. Tentaku’s default (Balanced) model for this provider is gpt-6-luna, which keeps a lecture to cents; Best uses gpt-6.1-sol.

Treat the key like a password: it’s stored encrypted on your computer and only ever sent to the provider.
